He gravitated toward music at a young age\, frequenting disco clubs in the mid-1970s and quickly becoming an established DJ on the scene.\n \n\nBenitez held a legendary residency at The Fun House in Manhattan from 1981 to 1984\, while simultaneously launching a prolific production and remix career. His work helped shape records by artists such as Madonna\, Whitney Houston\, Michael Jackson\, Talking Heads\, Hall & Oates\, Fleetwood Mac\, and many others.\n \n\nHe produced Madonna’s first hit “Holiday” and co-wrote “Sidewalk Talk\,” later releasing his debut album Just Visiting This Planet in 1987.\n \n\nThough he kept a lower profile during the 1990s\, Benitez remained active as a DJ and tastemaker. We’ll cast off under the stars\, ride deep into the night\, and search for sunrise together — docking back just as the sky starts to glow. \nMidnight sail.
