As the winter season comes to an end, in the ancient Persian tradition, it is considered bad luck to stay at home on the eve of “Red Wednesday” which is the last Tuesday night of the winter season. Since ancient times, people have been flocking to the streets in joy, dancing, and celebration. It is also tradition to jump over a fire, where it is believed that the fire would burn off our weaknesses and sicknesses of the past year and fill our souls with healing warmth. “Your yellow’ness from me, my red glow from you” is chanted as we jump over the fire. We invite you to join us for our annual Fire Festival Celebrations featuring house music along with old-world Persian and Eastern infusions.
