Christina Barron (Barroness) has actively participated in the community as a dancefloor veteran, promoter and DJ. A front-left speaker freaker since 1999, Barroness spins tunes from a dancer’s perspective. Adding a unique blend of sultry, provocative, and socially relevant vocals, along with beats that showcase a dancer’s love for the music, her sets bring the energy, inspiration and vibe that only a long-time member of the electronic music scene could.
Barroness is a regular performer at some of Toronto’s top venues like Coda, Vertigo and The Comfort Zone while maintaining a weekly residency at Wiggle Room. She feels beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to share the stage with legends like Gene Farris, Nathan Barato, Kenny Glasgow, Bad Boy Bill, Roger Sanchez and Riva Starr. Playing events such as Harvest fest, Boreal, Playground, Camp Wiggly and PRIDE, she curates every set to be impactful and unforgettable.
Christina is also the founder of Toronto’s PHANTOM Events, known for their great music, themed parties, secret locations and old-school vibes. In 2023, her team launched PHANTOMFEST, a 4-day and 3-night camping, music and arts festival filled with uninterrupted fun for the soul.
