Health + Safety

Dance floors unite people, fostering moments of collective joy. Enjoying a great vibe and good health starts with respectful intentions. Be considerate of others and their personal space, maintain a friendly attitude, and stay home if you’re not feeling well.

Code of Conduct & Protocol

Wiggle Room and Wiggly Events are safe dance spaces. We reserve the right to refuse entry at any time. Please report any instances of harassment, personal space violation, solicitation, controlled substance use, over-intoxication, or anything jeopardizing your or our guests’ safety and comfort. The safe word is “BANANA.”

All staff have completed sexual violence prevention training as part of our accreditation by the Order an Angelot program. This training prepares staff to recognize and respond to sexual violence, including unwanted touching, harassment, and drink spiking, with a commitment to support all patrons, especially women and LGBTQ+ individuals who may be at increased risk. Inspired by international initiatives such as “Ask for Angela,” the program empowers anyone to discreetly ask for help using the code word “BANANA.” Staff are trained to guide you to a quiet, safe space, provide resources like the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre, liaise with police if needed, and ensure your well-being until you leave safely. Our entire team, from bar and coat check to management and security, take part in ongoing training to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

All staff handling alcohol, including bar staff, servers, and security, hold Smart Serve certification. Smart Serve now includes essential modules on preventing and responding to sexual violence in hospitality settings, equipping our team to address risks such as harassment and drug-facilitated assaults. This comprehensive approach reinforces our commitment to your safety and assures that you can seek support confidently from any staff member at any time.

Ask any staff member for help. They will guide you to a quiet space. Look for team members in marked security clothing. For assistance, contact Takin, Lindsay Fay, Nour Bawab, Christina Barron, Tyler Hill, Mitch (lead security), Maria (bar), Sean Star (coat check), or Tanya. Wiggle responsibly.

Check Health

Please stay home if you or someone close to you is experiencing symptoms such as a sore throat, fever, coughing, unexpected allergy-type symptoms, or other signs of respiratory illness. Use Ontario’s self-assessment tool for information and support. Consider others and stay safe — we’ll look forward to seeing you next time.

If you or anyone in your group requires it, consider wearing a mask, arriving early, and dancing near one of our room fans. Our air ventilation and circulation systems help thin aerosols for improved air quality.

Hygiene & Fragrance

At Wiggle Room, we want everyone to enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. To help maintain this standard, guests are expected to observe good personal hygiene as part of our dress code and entry policy.

General Expectations

  • All guests must arrive clean and in fresh clothing suitable for Wiggle Room.
  • Clothing should be free of strong odours or offensive messages.
  • Strong body odour or overpowering perfume or cologne that may affect others’ comfort may be grounds for refusal of entry or service.

This policy exists to protect the shared comfort and well-being of all patrons and staff.

If a guest has a medical condition or other concern that affects personal scent or hygiene, staff will handle the matter with understanding and sensitivity.
